The Environment

When it comes to protecting the environment,
we believe we can always do more.

At SaudiGold, our commitment to environmental protection begins with an understanding of our surroundings and the operating environment. We aim to deliver a healthy environment for the local community and comply with all regulatory standards set by Malaysian authorities.

At SaudiGold, we strive to minimise our environmental impact by reducing energy use, waste, water, carbon emissions from transportation and production, and raw materials handling. We commit to control effluent discharge and comply with local Department of Environmental (DoE) regulations and our Environmental, Health & Safety Policy.

As the world is facing the impact of global warming, every organisation is doing their level best to reduce their carbon footprint. At SaudiGold, we are equally committed to make a positive impact on the environment.

3R waste management

While it may not be possible to eliminate waste disposal, we strive to manage waste in a sustainable manner. For us, it is going back to the basics – the 3Rs (reduce, reuse, recycle). In addition, we work closely with the Department of Environment (DoE) to ensure that scheduled waste from production is safely and properly handled.

Energy saving initiatives

Energy management starts with monitoring and tracking energy consumption. By constantly collecting data, we continuously find opportunities to come up with energy saving measures. Implementation of these measures are analysed, so that improvements can further be made.

Reducing greenhouse gas emissions

Some of our efforts towards reducing GHG emissions include preventive maintenance for thermal oil and boiler systems, annual emissions inspection for all company’s trucks, and partnership with local distributors to reduce daily deliveries.

Reduce water consumption

Our efforts in reducing water wastage include implementing effective water management strategy in the mechanically deboned meat (MDM) production line. This measure has allowed us to reduce water consumption by 10.3%. Other measures taken include acute monitoring of daily water consumption.
